November 25-December 2, 2018
SaskMusic proudly announces Saskatchewan Music Week. Running November 25 through December 2, 2018, the week will begin on November 25 in Regina with a launch event and public awards celebration honouring the recipients of the new Saskatchewan Music Awards. Award nominations will open September 21, with ticket information to be announced soon.
Then from November 29-December 2 in Saskatoon, SaskMusic will present Very Prairie: Saskatchewan Music Summit. The event will welcome industry professionals from across Canada and abroad for an intensive four-day conference. Panels of festival programmers, booking agents, record labels and more will provide Saskatchewan’s music industry, artists and musicians with insider insights and professional guidance. The weekend will also provide an opportunity to show off the province’s exploding local chefs, small batch coffee roasters, craft beer scene, and world-class event spaces. Registration for Very Prairie is open now, with early bird pricing in effect for SaskMusic members until November 9.
A limited number of artists will be presented in a Very Prairie showcase, with artist submissions also open now. With many fantastic live music events already scheduled during Saskatchewan Music Week, we issue a challenge to the public to Support Live Music. We encourage everyone, wherever you are in the province, to get out and enjoy live music. Saskatchewan has a long history of exemplary talent - from Buffy Saint Marie, The Sheepdogs, 2018 JUNO recipients The Dead South, and Western Canadian Music Award Hall of Famers The Northern Pikes, to platinum-selling, 5x Canadian Country Music Award winner Jess Moskaluke and #1 Rock charting One Bad Son, the list goes on. Amazing live music will be happening around the province and we encourage everyone to attend some shows and discover the province’s next breakout star!
