Each year we have unveiled a new design for the SMA trophy that is presented to winners. Here's details about each of those pieces.

2018 Awards

Our inaugural trophy was a simple crystal design.

​

2019 Awards

​

The 2019 award was an art piece crafted by Saskatoon Makerspace out of concrete and glass, with the shape of a sound
wave as inspiration, and incorporating the first SMA logo design.

2020 Awards

​

Acrylic nameplate set in a natural walnut base, in a minimal and contemporary style.

2021 Awards

​

Individually handcrafted from a single slab of live edge cherry with a hand-rubbed oil finish, and acrylic nameplate.

2022 Awards

​

Individually handcrafted from tigerwood with a hand-rubbed oil finish, and acrylic nameplate. The design incorporates the SaskMusic "sound wave" icon and is designed to be displayed either horizontally or vertically.

2023 Awards

​

A multi-faceted crystal top which changes colour depending on the light, set on a walnut base. The new SMA logo introduced for 2023 is displayed.

​

Caring for your trophy

The clear acrylic nameplates can be damaged by harsh solvents and cleaners. Use a commercial plastic cleaner or mild soap and water and non-abrasive lint-free or microfiber cloth that won't scratch the surface. Don’t use household cleaners, such as Windex, 409, ammonia, or Fantastik, as they may break down the material and make it look cloudy.

The natural wood bases can be dusted with a microfibre cloth.
